'Fringe' Rebounds Thursday, 'FlashForward' Stumbles

Amazing how more manageable competition can result in more viewers.
With ABC replacing "Grey's Anatomy" with "Private Practice" and CBS airing a rerun of "CSI," the Fox series "Fringe" had its best week since the beginning of the season, earning a 4.2 rating/6 share, according to Fast National ratings from The Nielsen Co.
That was more than 13 percent better than its Nov. 19 airing, and a 35 percent improvement since its series low of 3.1/5 to kick off sweeps on Nov. 5. The numbers were a little more than 10 percent off its season premiere on Sept. 17 and 10 percent better than its average of 3.8/6 this season.
All that came despite "Bones" being flat from its previous airing with a 6.2/10. "Fringe" is still losing a considerable amount of its lead-in audience, but a 32 percent erosion this week was far better than the 40 percent lead-in loss from the previous week.
The news on a quiet post-sweeps Thursday wasn't so good for "FlashForward." The final episode to air before March of the ABC series earned just a 4.6/7, according to Zap2it, reaching a series low. That's 11.5 percent off last week and 22 percent off its average pace this season of a 5.9/9.
It was by far ABC's lowest-rated show of the night, with two hours of "Private Practice" averaging a 6.5/11.
Neither show, however, will end up at the bottom of the network genre heap. That honor belongs to "Heroes," which earned a 3.5/5 on Monday for NBC, bouncing back 13 percent from its series low set the week of Thanksgiving.
"FlashForward" finished third in its timeslot Thursday behind "Survivor: Samoa" on CBS and "Bones" while "Fringe" finished fourth in its slot behind a rerun of "CSI," "Private Practice" and the comedy block of "The Office" and "30 Rock" on NBC. However, the comedies finished just slightly ahead of "Fringe" for the third slot ahead of reruns on The CW. grey's anatomy dvd

'Grey's Anatomy' Most DVR'ed Show This Season

As most shows close off their seasons at least for the holiday break, ABC medical dramedy Grey's Anatomy dvd tops the list of programs that people regularly record on their DVR's, with some 3 million viewers added to conventional ratings figures every week.
Other than Grey's Anatomy, the other shows that benefit heavily from delayed viewing via DVR including The Mentalist, NCIS, and House, programs that are notably not doing bad in the ratings department. On the other, in terms of percentage of viewers gained compared to conventional ratings, canceled Dollhouse and Fringe top the list dominated by cable shows. The others include Gossip Girl, Smallville, Melrose Place, and rookie comedy Glee.

NBC comedy The Office has the distinction of being the only show in the top ten of both number of viewers added and percentage gain. Newcomer V, meanwhile, is 4th in the list, with 2.36 mil viewers added to its already decent 14.36 mil figures.
Grey's Anatomy's midseason finale and Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year episode "Holidaze" reeled in 14.07 million viewers, a slight drop from 14.86 mil in the last episode. On the episode, Miranda (Chandra Wilson) got a visit from her father, while Sloan (Eric Dane) had the surprise of a lifetime when her 18-year-old long-lost daughter shows up, pregnant and with nowhere to go. www.dvdorderonline.com

Grey’s Anatomy: Holidaze

Grey's Anatomy This episode chronicles the doctors’ lives over the Thanksgiving-New Year’s Eve holiday stretch. It begins with the Chief tacitly admitting that he’s fallen off the wagon to Meredith. She busted him drinking last week, and he offers to mentor her this week as a passive way of buying her silence. She gives no indication that she sees it that way, but his timing is questionable, in my opinion.
Everyone continues adjusting to the newest doctor, Teddy Altman. She removes a patient’s heart until she can come up with a better treatment solution. The woman was on a date when she became ill, and the guy decides to hang around and wait with her in the hospital, despite not knowing her well. I thought that was very sweet and decent of him. Cristina assures the patient that she’ll probably get a new heart around New Year’s Eve, because there are usually a lot of accidents, which leads to an abundance of organs. That’s a macabre thought.
Family is a big part of the holiday season, and a few of our characters are in for a surprise. Mark finds out he has an 18-year-old daughter named Sloan. grey's anatomy dvd He ends up letting the girl move in, and doesn’t have the heart to give her the boot, especially after she tearfully admits that she’s pregnant and has no place to go. Mark suspected he had a child, but had paid for an abortion for Sloan’s mother and never inquired further about the matter. He probably feels guilty and that letting his daughter live with him for a few months is the least he can do. Meanwhile Bailey’s father comes for a surprise visit. Miranda has kept her divorce a secret from her family, and her father is very displeased when she confirms it. He blames Miranda for the demise of her marriage and the dismantling of her son’s family structure. He fails to see Miranda’s perspective and even calls her out about the situation in front of all of her friends around the dinner table. She finally puts her father in his place and sticks up for herself, saying that her son is happy and so is she.Things have been awkward between Teddy, Cristina and Owen. Teddy admitted to Owen that she was in love with him in the past and wished he had chosen her when he became single. He admitted that he had feelings for her at one point also. Despite all of this Owen remains committed to Cristina, and the two share a devouring embrace, with Owen swallowing up any doubts before Cristina could express them. So much for her hooking up with Dr. Avery.
This episode introduced new conflict and put others to rest. It also laid the groundwork for an explosive revelation about the Chief’s alcoholism. It’s nice to see that the series hasn’t stalled at the midway point, and I’ve come to expect nothing less than great storytelling from Shonda Rhimes. www.dvdorderonline.com

New Moon turns new page

Before I even begin my review of the second movie in the Twilight saga, I'd like to admit outright that I expected this movie to suck. Here's why. I read all four books, and while I enjoyed the story, I believe that Stephanie Meyer is a terrible writer. Her writing style is uneven, and many of the characters are two-dimensional. I feel like that series is a great idea, but would have been handled better by another writer. Thus I was excited to see the first film, hoping someone had fixed her mistakes. Sadly, I was disappointed. The entire thing felt poorly executed, capturing the book exactly. Add to that, even fans of the series have trouble getting through that overly depressing second book (until Edward comes back), and I almost didn't even make the trip to the theater this weekend.
Boy am I glad that I did. New Moon was fantastic! Kristen Stewart proved her acting chops, making me regret doubting her as Bella. Taylor Lautner similarly delivered as Jacob, showing that he did not need a recast. A slightly expanded role for the wonderful Billy Burke as Charlie was welcome, and I delighted when Ashley Greene's Alice returned near the end. I wish there were more of the vampires, especially Rachelle Lefevre and Elizabeth Reaser, who proved themselves to be quite capable in What About Brian? and Grey's Anatomy dvd, respectively. The action was great, the effects flowed seamlessly, and the story didn't drag like the book did. Bella's moping was done artistically, instead of torturing the viewer.
I did, however, figure out what was wrong with the first movie, and this is going to be a very unpopular revelation. It's Robert Pattinson as Edward. He was wooden and lacked chemistry with any of the other actors during his thankfully abbreviated screen time. I now realize it was his fault the first movie was so bad, as Kristen can act when taken away from his talent-sucking pout. I am strongly against recasting movies, but I beg the producers to reconsider in this case, although I know they won't. Perhaps Robert could enroll in some acting classes? Or simply be tutored by a few of his costars, each one a worthy teacher? New Moon was a great piece of cinema, but I worry about the upcoming sequels if Edward remains unchanged. I know that's the point of his character, but come on! Learn from your success. grey's anatomy

'Grey's Anatomy' Sires Web Series Spin-Off

Extending one of it more popular brands online, Disney/ABC Television Group on Thursday debuted an original online companion series to "Grey's Anatomy."
Sponsored by Italian food company Bertolli, "Seattle Grace: On Call" consists of six individual webisodes, each four-five minutes in length, as well as a behind-the-scenes "making of" episode.
Set primarily in Joe's Emerald City Bar, the hangout spot for doctors in the series, the series is shot in a documentary-style and features familiar faces from "Grey's Anatomy."
"Our goal with the Web series is to expand the 'Grey's' universe by offering a unique perspective of the various happenings at Seattle Grace, while paralleling some of the same story lines seen on the show," said "Grey's Anatomy" creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes. "The intent is to put everything fans love about Grey's into these short, 4-minute mini-episodes that have been designed solely for the Internet."
For networks and production companies, Web extensions are often used as a cost-effective way to strengthen core brands, are always hold the promise of viral success.
A pioneer in the space, NBC ran original webisodes to keep "The Office" on fans minds during the summer of 2006.
Last month, following the season four premiere of "Dexter," Showtime began putting together a series of animated webisodes to accompany the series. "Dexter: Early Cuts" is a 12-part series consisting of four, 1-2 minute chapters, focusing on how Dexter's killing techniques evolved throughout the course of his disturbed life.
Earlier this year, meanwhile, Bravo created a custom webisode series featuring past "Top Chef" contestants driving around Los Angeles in a Lexus RX SUV. The "Custom Reinvention Webisode Series" was part of larger multi-platform effort sponsored by Lexus. http://www.dvdorderonline.com/

this is unfair!!!!

this is unfair, why the socity is like this??? why the so called "relationship-people" are so popular~! why the people who has nothing can get a good job while the people in the poor family has got nothing.. i was studying so hard in my college lives and now i have got a quite job, but the people who nearly don't have the certifycaion to get the education book has everything??? this is caused by their family and this cool socity. i dan't have the right to blame my parents who didn't creat a good situation for me to get a better life but my family is very harmony...

compared the happiness family and a better further, i 'd like the former one...

this is my choice.. even i don't have a quite good condition so i have to work hard and hard to get my life and my family become better and better..

fighting, i am the best one and if i work hard, the god will bless me and bring good luck for me..

'Grey's Anatomy' star Eric Dane hooks up with Christina Aguilera's 'Burlesque'

Christina Aguilera's life is about to get McSteamier.
"Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane is hopping into the tub, so to speak, with Aguilera and Cher for the former's first big-screen lead role and the latter's first non-animated role in a decade.
Dane will play a businessman out to buy Cher's title burlesque and, at the same time, win Aguilera's heart, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Singer Aguilera will play a small-town girl who heads to Los Angeles to make her fortune, finding it at a club run by Cher while vying against rival Kristen Bell.
Filming began last week in Los Angeles for a Thanksgiving 2010 release.
Dane, meanwhile, is also known for toying with two women thanks to a sex tape he made with wife Rebecca Gayheart and former Playboy model Kari Anne Peniche. grey's anatomy dvd

Grey's Anatomy's Kevin McKidd Dishes on (And Defends!) "Love Triangle"

Cristina hates her. With a passion. And so far, it seems that some of you fans do too.
Ever since Kim Raver (whom Cristina named "Desert Storm Barbie") was introduced on Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy dvd, our inbox has overflowed with messages from fans wanting to know what's next for their favorite couple, Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd), now that Kim's character, Dr. Teddy Altman, is in the mix.
Well, we just talked to Kevin himself, and he admits that he, too, was concerned at first about the triangle, but he warmed up to it, and tells you fans why you might want to keep an open mind.
Oh, and if you want to know what's next for Glee (Christmas song!), Vampire Diaries (is Stefan really gone?) or Desperate Housewives (who won't die?), we have that too.
It's all in our latest roundup of exclusive TV scoop...
Alex in Rhode Island: Please don't tell me Kim Raver is sticking around long on Grey's Anatomy dvd box set!
She's not going anywhere for the time being, my friend, and according to Kevin, that is a very good thing! (We believe him because he's the straight-up sort of guy who admits he had his doubts at first and because he also has a sexy Scottish accent that makes you want to believe him.) "When we heard the pitch of this idea for the storyline this year," Kevin tells us, "I think Sandra and I were kind of initially like, 'This is bad.' I think we felt this is a good thing with these two and there could have been more storylines to tell. But you know, I met Kim and we started to work and what seemed to be coming clear very quickly is that we three actors have great respect for each other. And that adds a really interesting dynamic to the triangle as it is played out on the screen because all three of us actors have great respect for each other."
Mindy in Barcelona: What's going to happen with Owen, Cristina and Kim Raver on Grey's Anatomy? We'll have more for you from Kevin before the next Grey's dvd ep, but for now we can share with you what Kevin says: "It's not going to be some petty, juvenile, immature thing. It's going to be really interesting and very intense. It's going to get much hotter and complicated between the three of them because it is such an adult problem that they have...People are hopefully going to be very, very torn and very involved and kind of sucked into it. I think it's a very interesting story we're telling."http://www.dvdorderonline.comPerhaps we should all keep an open mind? Thoughts?

Tonight on Vampire Diaries

Happy birthday to you takes on all new meaning when you’ve had more than 162 of them. Stefan’s got a surprise coming his way in the form of Arielle Kebbel who played Jared Padalecki’s young wife Lindsay on Gilmore Girls.

On his birthday, Stefan (Paul Wesley) is surprised by a visit from Lexi, (guest star Arielle Kebble, “Gilmore Girls”), one of his oldest friends. Still upset by the events at the Halloween haunted house, Elena (Nina Dobrev) does her best to stay away from Stefan, but Lexi gives her some unsolicited relationship advice. Elena and Jenna (Sara Canning) are surprised by a change in Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) behavior.
At Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) insistence, Caroline (Candice Accola) tries to get his medallion back from Bonnie (Katerina Graham). Finally, Damon’s offer to help Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) has sudden and tragic results.
Zach Roerig also stars. Rick Bota directed the episode written by Barbie Kligman & Gabrielle Stanton (#107).

Singer-songwriter to perform, talk to high school students

Global singer-songwriter Amy Kuney, who has appeared on the TV shows "One Tree Hill" and "Gilmore Girls," is scheduled to talk about her career Nov. 4 at Streetsboro High School as part of the bi-annual "Poetry Slam."
The artist, who lives in Los Angeles, has been touring the country for a year, during which she's played at schools, graduation parties and summer camps. This will be her first appearance in Ohio.
Kuney said students seem to respond to her music, which she describes as "Fiona Apple meets Norah Jones meets Sarah McLachlan."
"I feel like I really connect with the kids because I feel that a lot of time they're overlooked," the 24-year-old said. "It's interesting to see. When they hear my songs they perk up."
According to teacher Jim Boardwine, students enrolled in English, journalism, songwriting and pop music classes, which account for about half of the high school's 750 students, will attend. Kuney is scheduled to perform three times during the school day at the Poetry Slam, an all-day event when students and teachers can read poetry and other literary works. gilmore girls dvd

Grey's Anatomy, Fringe Get Lift in DVR Usage

Week four of the live-plus-seven-day ratings, which include DVR usage, have been released. Mirroring weeks one through three, programming on Thursday dominated, with four of the top five, six of the top 10 and 8 of the top 15 Thursday occupants. Grey’s Anatomy on ABC experienced the largest gain among DVR users, with 3.01 million additional viewers via the technology (an increase of 21.8 percent). Fox’s Fringe, which held the number 12 spot in terms of growth (+1.77 million) actually had the highest percent increase at 30.6. Next in terms of percentage (which emphasizes many of The CW shows) was The CW’s Melrose Place (+27.4 percent), followed by NBC’s Heroes (+26.6 percent), NBC’s The Office (+24.7 percent), The CW’s 90210 (+24.5 percent), The CW”s Smallville (+24.4 percent), The CW”s Gossip Girl (+23.6 percent), America’s Next Top Model on The CW (+22.1 percent), Grey’s Anatomy dvd on ABC (+21.8 percent), The CW’s Supernatural (+21.0 percent), ABC’s FlashForward and NBC’s 30 Rock (+20.6 percent each) and Fox’s Glee (+20.1 percent). The moral of the story: what may be struggling in live-plus-seven-day usage can exhibit life via the DVR. www.dvdorderonline.com

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson’s cinematic swansong This Is It is currently packing ‘em in worldwide. We caught up with director Kenny Ortega to see how the project came about, hear about the trust Michael Jackson had for him, and offer him the opportunity to defend the film against the cynics. And you can read the interview.
Interestingly enough, Ortega – whose other directing credits include TVs “Gilmore Girls” and “Hocus Pocus” – said he and Jackson were about to work on a couple of films, one of them a full-length “Thriller” movie.
“Yeah, we were going to do a couple of films. Before we even knew that we were going to do This Is It, Michael and I were already in the early development stages in talking about doing a Legs Diamond musical and a full length 3-D Thriller motion picture. He wanted to pull the plug on his live performing because he said, ‘I don’t want to be out there doing it when I can’t do it with the integrity that I’m known for. However, let’s make movies and great albums and develop projects together.’ So he was excited about so much. He had so much more in him still.’’
Ortega, who recently walked from Paramount’s “Footloose” remake, says he also has no plans to return to the “High School Musical” franchise.
‘’I’m not going to do High School Musical 4 but I hear that they might be doing an all new cast, all new.’’

Halloween Festival

Stormy skies and pouring rain added to the haunting atmosphere of the village's first Halloween Festival

Although organizer Anita Boyer was sure the weather hurt attendance, she was happy to see people having a good time and enjoying the activities.
"The weather has not been our friend," Boyer said as she set up the silent auction table. "The weather, I know, kept people away. We had to hold off (activities) because of the rain."
Boyer got her inspiration for the festival from watching "Gilmore Girls." On the show, the girls conducted a festival every month with few if any problems.
"It's always easier on TV," Boyer laughed. "I just thought it would be something fun for the community, not just tourists."
A popular event with eight contestants was the Hot Dog Eating Contest. A plate filled with 10 frankfurters in buns was placed in front of each participant. The person who could finish all 10 first or the most in five minutes was the winner.
Different techniques were used. One person ate two hot dogs at a time. Another sipped water between bites. The winner, Patrick Hatfield, of Conesville, polished off six in the allotted five minutes.
Hatfield won a festival T-shirt for his efforts. He has entered other eating contests and has won a watermelon eating contest in Columbus in the past.

'Vampire Diaries'

Someone who can make Stefan smile has arrived at Mystic Falls, much to Elena's dismay. Next week on "The Vampire Diaries", Arielle Kebble who claimed her fame through her starring role as Lindsay Forester on "Gilmore Girls", has put on fake fangs to become Stefan's oldest vampire friend.
On his birthday, Stefan is surprised by a visit from Lexi, one of his oldest friends. Still upset by the events at the Halloween haunted house, Elena does her best to stay away from Stefan, but Lexi gives her some unsolicited relationship advice.
Asked by Los Angeles Times what kind of impact that Lexi will have on the show, producer Kevin Williamson said, "She's going to come in and stir things up in a good way. I don't want to give too much away, but she has a really great character, a really exciting role. We just watched that episode actually. It's very scary, but also an really emotional episode."
Also in the episode called "162 Candles", Elena and Jenna are surprised by a change in Jeremy's behavior. At Damon's insistence, Caroline tries to get his medallion back from Bonnie. the River Campus will host the traveling comedy stylings of two men in drag. "The Queen of Bingo" will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall located in the Cultural Arts Center.
Shane Partlow and Rowan Joseph play Sis and Babe, two women that are well over-the-hill, looking for a good time and settling on bingo. The show gets interactive when the sisters give away a 10-pound turkey to a member of the audience during a real bingo game.
Bob Cerchio, assistant director at the River Campus, said while sifting through a cabinet full of potential shows, "The Queen of Bingo" appealed to him instantly. Cerchio said the show was booked through Mainstage management out of St. Louis because of its light comedy and the small cast's ability to "fly in and out [of Cape Girardeau] easily."
Shane Partlow hails from Los Angeles, where he has had parts in Superzeros, The Sunshine Boys and Shane & Rowan's Late Nite Sideshow. He has also appeared on several television shows including, "Will and Grace," "Gilmore Girls," and "iCarly," as well as doing commercials for Coke, Heinz Ketchup, Covergirl, and the Food Network.
Rowan Joseph has appeared in off-Broadway productions of "The Time of Your Life," "Children of the Sun," and "The Queen of Bingo." In the city of angels he has been in "An Evening With Jack Klugman," and co-stars on "Shane & Rowan's Late Nite Sideshow." Television viewers might recognize him from guest roles on "Gilmore Girls," "Arrest & Trial," and "Boston Legal."
The Las Vegas Review-Journal says, "You don't have to be tuned into the Bingo culture to have enjoyed the touring comedy, 'The Queen of Bingo!'... Partlow and Joseph not only turned in first-rate performances, but complemented each other as well. You saw them as two distinctive women; never as men in drag...You could tell where the bingo fanatics were sitting. Certain areas of the theater rang nearly non-stop with guffaws."

Eastwick

Eastwick, or as Rabia, calls, it, the Twitchie show. Even though there’s no Previously On, I just wanted to say that I’m surprised that ABC is trying to remake The Witches of Eastwick, even though multiple previous attempts have failed. Regardless, I actually find it kind of fun and whimsical, even if the characters are all such cardboard cutouts that I can’t ever remember their names.
Our three twitches and Darryl are in a restaurant. Darryl remarks how happy he is to be invited to “ladies night out.” Rebecca Romijn points out that he invited them, but he says he still enjoys them. Did I miss an episode or something? At what point did they all become buddies? As the girls chat, catching us up on expositional wah wahs (Redheaded Twitch: I have no husband anymore! Blonde twitch: Anal retentiveness about my recently, almost raped daughter!), brunette twitch’s boy= comes into the restaurant. He’s still mad at her for hooking up with her stupid ex-fiance. Redheaded twitch goes to give newspaper guy the “what-for,” which goes down disastrously, she actually says, “No one puts Joanna in the corner.” I want to shoot myself. There’s a lot more silliness, but I get distracted by my roommate’s cousins golden retrievers, so things happen and there’s a commercial. Or something. Who knows?
The next scene happens at Roxie’s house. I really, really love how whimsical/artsy they made it — it’s like a mix of a courtesan’s boudoir and the creepy witch house in Hocus Pocus. Which, if you consider her character, is perfect. Anyway, Roxie’s daughter Mia is video chatting with the cute curly haired boy she met last episode. I find that to be such a weird an invasion of privacy, and would never talk to someone I was crushing on via video chat, but then I’m an old person. Rebecca Romijn comes home, and Mia freaks out and slams the laptop closed. Nice phone etiquette you’ve taught your daughter, Roxie. But then again, you’re dating a boy who could be your son, so…
Speaking of which: Matt Dallas is back! Matt Dallas is back! Rabia, I assume, would want all of you know to that I’m a crazy obsesser because of how much I love Matt Dallas, but, let’s just say that once upon a time, there was a show called Kyle XY dvd box set. It was on ABC Family guy dvd box set , it was weird, but Matt Dallas was on it, and even though the character he played always seemed slightly autistic, he had these adorable little mouth smirks. But he played an over eager 16-year-old, which made it really inappropriate for me to have a crush on him. Now, however, he plays Rebecca Romijn’s boyfriend, and is 27, which means two things: First, I can stare at his adorable face without feeling like a cougar. Second, he has finally hit the perfect spot between adorable, overeager puppy and sex-pot. Woo hoo!
Anyway, dear Mattie stops by Roxie’s store to see if she wants to have “Slunch,” which is his new word for “Sex and lunch.” As she gets ready to head out (and as adorable as MD 1-5 dvd is, and gorgeous as RR looks, I just can’t buy the two of them together, and it’s especially creepy when she acts like his mom and offers to make him PB and J, even though that’s clearly the point), he sees her daughter’s diary sitting on the counter. Roxie gets all defensive, but Mattie (who IMDB tells me is actually named Chad, like, really, Show? Chad? Could you be more of a caricature of yourself?) decides to play Devil’s advocate and tells her to start reading it. This, for some reason (got distracted again, sorry) instigates a conversation between the two about Roxie’s super powers. Chad surprisingly, believes her without any of the usual conceit: “What?! You’re a witch! Vampires are real! Ahhh!” Instead, he offers to be her Professor X/Yoda, initiating the following amusing conversation:
Kyle XY dvd box set./MD/Chad: I read a lot of sequential art books.
Roxie: You mean comic books.
Kyle XY dvd box set.: Graphic novels. I can be your Professor X.
Roxie: I … don’t know who that is.
Restaurant. The redheaded witch whose name I can never remember is having lunch with Darryl, and complaining/confessing about how she doesn’t know how to flirt or date because she married the first guy she ever flirted with. Now is the time that Rabia and I want you to know how glad we are that her stupid ex-husband is no longer on the show.
Back at Roxie’s artsy house, Roxie is trying to guess cards, but not doing it well. Mattie/Chad tells her to focus. Roxie: “You’re the most annoying Yoda ever.” And, scene.
High school. Roxie’s daughter is walking around with the cute nerdie boy with the curly hair. The nerdy boy is also Chad’s younger brother, which is way too high of an ick factor, even for me. (And I watch True Blood). They’re being flirty, until Mia’s cool friends come up. Curly haired nerd bolts, and Mia’s friends give her a hard time for hanging out with a nerd. It’s okay, nerdy boy: When you get to college and start wearing skinny jeans, girls will think you’re the bomb diggity.
Back to RR’s den of magick. MD dvd box set is still trying to train Roxie’s mind with his guess-the-card game, but Roxie’s too distracted by Mia being out too late to pay attention. I, however, am distracted by how awesome her hair looks. I haven’t mentioned this before, but I am really glad ABC didn’t force Rebecca Romijn to lose the baby weight. She’s gorgeous, and for once, not stickish. MD dvd finds her whole mothering thing adorable, and does that little quirky smile thing I can’t ever get over. When RR finally decides to just grab her keys and go (Mattie: It’s ok. Tonight was kind of a bust, anyway.) It’s ambiguous whether he’s referring to her not being able to read the cards or if he means because they didn’t have sex. It’s dinner time, so: Sdinner? Sevening snack? Not going to work. Magickly, because she’s magickal, and the huge scary moon apparently is when she and the other girls “come into their powers,” she guesses all the cards right, shocking my future husband.
In the newspaper office, brunette twitch is freaking out, because their source about the Darryl story gave them pretty much everything. As she rants and raves about her back being up against the wall, or some similar double entendre, the same ridiculous moon shows up, and suddenly they are taken over by the Bon Temps virus (minus icky black eyes), and decided that they need to “party.”
Rabia: Does anyone even use party that way?
Outside on the Gilmore Girls dvd ’ set (yep, Eastwick takes place on the old Gilmore Girls dvd box set ’ set, so if you thought it looked like Stars Hollow, you were right), the two most beautiful people ever are walking down the street, trying to find Mia. Rebecca Romijn’s precognition powers (my notes here say: prepositional powers) go into overdrive and she starts telling people things about themselves and their lives they don’t want to know. Mattie crows over how awesome her new powers are, then they realize they are both horny and start going at … as does everyone else in town, especially this hilarious old woman who grabs a younger dude and starts macking. It’s like the PG version of True Blood, which makes sense since New Englanders aren’t nearly as crazy (aka: have sticks too far up their bums to really let their inner deviants fly). Also, I really hate the word horny.
Hot redhead shows up in a hot redhead Jessica Rabbit dress. Darryl is sitting there, and I think he thinks she’s there to put the moves on him, but it’s pretty obvious she’s there to sing. She climbs up on the piano and starts singing.
Out in the street, or alley, or something, Roxie and Kyle XY have just finished doing it. They talk about how they can’t believe they did it (I’m assuming they mean outside, since I’m pretty sure all they pretty much do is have sex), and how they are going to do it again. Just then, Roxie gets a flash: her daughter, being led into a holdup cell at a police station. As she recovers from her vision with an overly concerned Kyle (I’m sorry, I can never remember what his character’s name is), a police officer shines a light on them, with a “is everybody going crazy in this town tonight?” Officer, if you want to see crazy, you should go to Ben Temps. Everyone is in boxers.
In a really bad transition, we return to hot redheaded twitch, whose singing has managed to make the candle flames go super high and will probably burn down the restaurant in a second. We see Mia making out with her curly haired nerdy friend in front of a teepeed school, and then back to singing witch. I should be on this show (or it’s all just really obvious), because like I premonitioned (premonited?), the restaurant is now on fire. Guess brunette journalist witch can now add “arsonist” to her description of Darryl in her article.
Speaking of which, we see her in the montage writing her story furiously … which they then take in to Clyde, the editor … who is not wearing pants! Oh, and that moment I also premonissed happened as well, because Penny kisses brunette twitch. Girl on girl action!
Back in the prison cell, MD and RR are sitting in the jail cell together, both unbelieving that they had an “alley quickie.” The lingo of this show astounds me. They are interrupted when they see Mia and Matt’s younger brother being led into the cell by the police officer. Arguing and awkwardness ensues, especially when Roxie realizes that her daughter made out with her jailbait boyfriend’s younger brother. Ewwwww. Mini Roxie hurts younger brother’s feelings by admitting she’s embarrassed to be seen with him. I’m sure he’s already embarrassed enough that his older brother is dating the town cougar. This is made even clearer when Mia looks at her mom and says, “What did you end up in here for?”
Back at the burned down restaurant, the redhead ends up having a meet-cute with a very sexy firefighter. That’s a relationship that could come in handy, especially if she doesn’t get the flame power thing under control. And then, they make out. Woo hoo. Commercials. Also, I didn’t realize that the sexy firefighter was actually Joanna’s coworker/crush man, because he isn’t wearing glasses. Isn’t that really dangerous, to have a semi-blind firefighter who fights fire without glasses on? Oy.
The next morning, the town recovers from their crazy party. Kat wakes up on Joanna’s couch. Wasn’t she just making out with Joanna’s boy toy? How did she get home? I’m really confused. Now is the time, also, for me to remark on how absurd it is that the three of them went from not being buddies, to bosom buddies. Whatever, I’m almost done. Joanna comes home from a run, picks up the newspaper, and sees the less-than-accurate story she published on Darryl. Cue her boss (played by Steve Hytner, who was Kenny on Seinfeld, and how’s that for random pop culture for you?) calling and yelling at her. I hope that he’s currently wearing pants.
Back in Roxie’s Pad of Frilly Clothes and Whimsy, Roxie and Mia make up, and Roxie helps Mia write a text to the boy. She makes a joke about double dating, but I really don’t want to go there.
Joanna goes into work, where Darryl is waiting for her. Joanna is essentially F’d, because Darryl has proof that he is who he says he is. And the baby who died (and he had stolen the identity of) was his cousin, apparently. This all ends with Joanna getting fired.
In the street, Kat surveys the ruins of her night of singing and debauchery. Lots of burned stuff everywhere. Darryl shows up in his town car/limo, tells her she can burn down whatever club of his she desires, and then bounces, leaving Kat to ponder her witchy ways.
Back at Roxie’s AGAIN, Matt Dallas is there, and they are trying out her magickal card reading powers. The swirly music of magick stars up, but … no dice. Upset that she can’t do magick anymore, Mattie and Roxie kiss … cueing up a disturbing vision, where Roxie and Mia are at a funeral. Roxie and Mia are hugging, and Roxie is wearing a horrifying hat, but what’s scarier is that Matt Dallas might die in a few months. NO!
Next week: Roxie thinks she’s on FlashForward, Joanna is unemployed, and then gets pissed when she finds out tall blonde journalist kissed Kat. Uh oh, trouble’s a brewing! gilmore girls box set

'Gilmore Girls' Creator To Pen NYC-Centric HBO Series

It's nearly impossible to chose which dearly departed series we miss more: the heartwarming mother-daughter dramedy "Gilmore Girls" or the savvy Manhattan-centric "Sex and the City." Thankfully, we may not have to chose, as a new HBO series penned by "GG" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino (pictured far right in 2005 with "Gilmore" alums Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel) may allow us to revisit the best of both worlds.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as-yet untitled series "chronicles the complicated relationship between three adult sisters, all writers sharing the same Upper East Side apartment building, and their mother, a domineering literary lioness who reserves most of her affections for their ne'er-do-well brother."
"It's a story of love, hate, family — and finding the perfect opening line," Amy added.
Amy's whip-smart writing coupled with the bawdiness afforded by HBO, hint at the makings of a great series — it just needs a fabulous cast! So Hollywood Crush is taking a seat on our casting couch to decide who should prowl Fifth Avenue. Amy, we hope you're listening!

Gossip

We don't really hit you up with ratings news here on IGN TV, but we thought this story needed to be told. In the ultimate "David vs. Goliath" story, a little, critically-acclaimed cable show over on FX, Sons of Anarchy, beat The Jay Leno Show in the ratings last night.
With The Jay Leno show suffering the slings and arrows from just about everyone in the industry - being called everything from a harbinger of doom to an outright abomination - this news comes as a welcome sign that serialized drama, especially at 10pm, is still a valid commodity.
Anarchy drew in 3.7 million viewers (a 2.05 rating), proving that it's still a powerhouse for FX. Leno drew in a 1.8 rating. There are still arguments on both sides of the Leno issue, with NBC being able to claim a higher profit margin due to the extreme low production costs of Leno's new show.

Gilmore Girls Creator Inks Deal with HBO

Before Gilmore Girls, rapid fire banter did not exist. The mother-daughter team of Rory and Lorelai created a new trend and while on air did something remarkable to households worldwide. Gilmore Girls dvd made mothers cool, and it allowed mother-daughter teams to bond every week over the antics of the silly and adorable Rory and Lorelai. Oh, how we miss the days of the Gilmore Girls dvd box set, but wait, have you heard the buzz about a new show by Amy Sherman-Palladino?
Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) gave us seven great years of fast talking mother-daughter hijinks. Never had a show highlighted the beautiful and complex relationship between mother and daughter in the way Gilmore Girls 1-7 dvd did. At times the relationship was messy, leading the duo to fight, at times the unbreakable bond was extremely moving, but more often than Anything Else, we witnessed four generations of the Gilmores and the deep and intricate relationships that held them all together. Since going off the air in 2007, fans have been secretly praying for a Gilmore Girls series 1-7 dvd box set reunion. Actually, I'm not sure the word "secretly" really applies in that last sentence! Gilmore Girls 1-7 dvd box set creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has heard your prayers and has inked a deal with HBO to create a new dramedy similar to Gilmore Girls dvd collects.
Amy will write and produce the new drama that will follow the lives of a family living on the Upper East Side. Three sisters will be living together in the same apartment building as they vey for their mother's attention, which is woven tightly around their brother. The family has entrenched their life into the literature world and as the three daughters struggle to make a name, their lioness mother rules the NY literature world. Sherman-Palladino told THR.com, "It's a story of love, hate, family -- and finding the perfect opening line." This project is still in early development and casting details and airing details have yet to be determined, but we definitely can't wait to hear more! What about you?
