Jennifer Morrison may be taking on the mother of all roles.
The former House MD dvd star joins the cast of How I Met Your Mother dvd box set as Zooey, a new love interest for Ted (Josh Radnor).
Described by executive producer Craig Thomas as "the biggest female character" ever added to Ted's life, Zooey is an activist trying to stop the destruction of a building that will be replaced by one of Ted's designs.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the actress is a frontrunner to play a major new love interest for Ted, who may or may not turn out to be the title character of Mother.
The character is described as "a quick-witted, rabble-rousing activist who initially clashes with Ted over the planned demolition of a historic New York hotel." Said rabble-rouser is expected to appear in How I Met Your Mother dvd.
Other names being floated for the role include Friday Night Lights dvd ' Minka Kelly and former Real World star-turned-actress Jacinda Barrett.
