Executive producer Jason Katims shares his plans for the folks of Dillon, Texas, as they head toward the final down.Q: What are the main stories this season?A: There are a couple. One is about the East Dillon Lions becoming a formidable team, to everyone's surprise. As the team begins to win games, success begins to breed problems. They start to win with a certain kind of swagger. This is a team that challenges Coach Taylor. Another through line is that Vince's father Ornette arrives and affects both Vince and Coach. He wants to play a very direct managerial role in his son's football future. But he was in prison, and has a background of drugs and crime. Q: What's happening with the Taylor family-Coach, Tami and Julie?A: The big question that arises for the Taylor family comes at end of the season. It involves the future of the Lions, but also a very personal question about the Taylor family and some fairly big choices they have to make. Without giving too much away, as wonderful as the Taylor marriage is, it's always been very traditional in the sense that Coach Taylor's career has always led the way. This year, we're dealing with not only his career but Tami's career as well. That creates a challenge to their otherwise seamless marriage. We watch them grapple with that toward the latter part of the season.Q: Is Tim still in prison?A: Yes. But he still leaves his indelible mark on the show. We see him in the first episode then he returns for the last four episodes.Q: How is Becky coping after her abortion?A: Becky is basically trying to throw herself into high school life. Taylor Swift's Speak Now Live Stream Attracts Fans Worldwide
Taylor Swift celebrated the arrival of Speak Now with a fan-filled album-release party at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan on Monday (October 25). The party not only included an amped-up performance by Swift, but also fans from around the world, who dined on sushi, mac and cheese and lobster.
Swift hung out with partygoers during her meet-and-greet and seemed genuinely excited by the chance to catch up with fans on the day of her release. She hugged and took pictures with every one of them. Wearing a yellow satin dress with maroon patent heels, haven season 1 she not only met with her fans, but also took questions from them during the nearly hour-long live stream on MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com.
Fans asked about everything: What inspired the album? "For me, Speak Now was inspired by the last two years of my life ... that's why I write songs," she said before joking about whether there was anything she wouldn't write about. The Office: Most Remarkable Guest Stars
After watching last night's Office dvd box set episode, "The Sting," and very much enjoying the guest star Timothy Olyphant as the dashing paper salesman Danny Cordray, I started to remember some of Dunder Mifflin's other notable guests and realized there haven't been that many. I need to give credit to a show in its seventh season for showing amazing restraint when it comes to stunt casting. That said though, with the show feeling incredibly stagnant, maybe they should start revving up those "shark jumping" engines a bit more and earn some fresh, familiar faces.
Hell, when Steve Carell leaves at the conclusion of this year, they're going to have to do the greatest in stunt casting by replacing him with some other well-known comedic actor. Now that kind of life-support replacement casting usually spells out doom for a series, but harmless character actor fun can really enhance a show. Take a look at 30 Rock. They pulled their guest star card out early and they use it so often that it's almost what the show's become known for. The Office box set has been running with the same core characters for way too long and nowadays the show works best when the status quo gets shaken up a bit by outsiders. The "Danny" storyline last night was pretty damn funny, while the Dwight/Daryl/Kevin makeshift band stuff was just lazy.
So The Office dvd might not have the inspired guest casting selling point of 30 Rock dvd (Hayek, Damon, Arnett, Conway, etc) but the few the few celebs they have had on the show have definitely left their mark.

Sookie protected her True Blood lover by staking his vampire maker.Mad Men's Don Draper treated his secretary like a whore. And, as the ballad of Angelina and Pauly D sounded its final mournful note, two sprightly young things named Ali and Roberto swept in to renew our faith in true love. We never hear Jacobson's side of the story , leaving us with the overall impression of a horrible smear campaign. In particular, Rachel talks about the "betrayal" by a girl she considered family and takes calls from colleagues who are keeping tabs on Taylor for Rachel since her departure.

Did Florence Henderson Get Voted Off 'Dancing With the Stars'?
Though it looked like we were gearing up to say goodbye to Bristol Palin on this week's Dancing With the Stars, but the politician's daughter lived to boogie another week, as TV icon Florence Henderson was the unlucky contestant sent packing.
"It was a wonderful experience," said Mrs. Brady, after her ousting. "I've always admired dancers more than any other group in our business. And I've always wanted to be a real dancer and [partner] Corky [Ballas] brought that out in me."
There wasn't a dry eye in the house after the news of Henderson's elimination was delivered, as the remaining contestants were beyond sad to see the TV mom go.
"I'm going to miss everything about Florence," a teary-eyed Brandy told E! News backstage. "She is a brilliant woman. I'm so proud to know her now, and I'm very hurt by her leaving tonight."
"Florence was the one that I bonded with the most," Palin chimed in. "She's such a good person and so good to be around."
"I'm going to miss her," concurred Disney star Kyle Massey. "She's so sweet and to easy to get along with. You always want to run and squeeze her."
Even DWTS' tough pro Tony Dovolani was affected by Henderson's goodbye.
"I've known Florence for five years," he said, "And she's a friend first, for me. She's a true example of how you shouldn't let age determine what you can and can't do."

None of the shows have popped much in recent weeks. "The Event dvd " has averaged 9.1 million viewers using the most current ratings date including DVR viewership. "LOLA" has averaged 8.7 million viewers and "Outsourced" 6.3 million.
The news does mean, however, that "Event" fans will have a stronger chance of finding out what "The Event" actually is -- sources say its reveal is planned for near the end of the first season.
NBC has not decided about "Chuck dvd box set," "Chase" and "Undercovers."

What sons of Anarchy's Maggie Siff said to us
It's been a tough season so far for Sons of Anarchy dvd's Tara. First, Tara (Maggie Siff) was rejected by her boyfriend, Jax, whose obsession with finding his abducted infant son made him push everyone away. Then, Tara unknowingly went to help Gemma deal with a woman who threatened to turn in Gemma for the reward. After a scuffle, that woman ended up dead, and Tara helped Gemma cover it up."The moment Tara made the decision to go up and help, it kind of sealed the deal for trouble," Siff tells us "Just being around Gemma, you never know what direction things are going to go. All of the characters at one point or another learn that there's no arguing with her will." Tara has been around the motorcycle club long enough to get her hands dirty, but she's never been this closely linked to murder. So, will Tara's involvement change her?"I think Tara will always be struggling with her conscience in one way or another," Siff says. "The weight of those deeds and the ramifications that they have in the world continue to play themselves out in Tara's head and heart. But at the same time, there's a lot more gray in her world than there used to be. It's a function of having been in this world and following the logic of Gemma." Keck's Exclusives: Q&A with Vampire Diaries Executive Producers Williamson and Plec
During Comic-Con weekend in San Diego, I was treated to an exclusive sit-down interview with Vampire Diaries executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec to discuss some of the Season 2 secrets they're plotting.
The CW is very event-oriented, but I was initially very resistant of it. Last season was all built around Founder's Day. And this year we're considering three events as our big lead-up to the season finale.
Plec: We do have a carnival in our second episode, and in the third episode, Elena and Damon and Alaric travel together to Duke University, where Isobel, Alaric's wife and Elena's birth mother, met and lived together. She studied the paranormal and was an expert in the anthropology department which is how she disguised her vampire research. She had become obsessed with Mystic Falls and dug deep into the history of the town. So on their trip, they dig into her dusty files to see what she may have known that they don't know.

Jennifer Morrison will join How I Met Your Mother new season
Jennifer Morrison may be taking on the mother of all roles.
The former House MD dvd star joins the cast of How I Met Your Mother dvd box set as Zooey, a new love interest for Ted (Josh Radnor).
Described by executive producer Craig Thomas as "the biggest female character" ever added to Ted's life, Zooey is an activist trying to stop the destruction of a building that will be replaced by one of Ted's designs.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the actress is a frontrunner to play a major new love interest for Ted, who may or may not turn out to be the title character of Mother.
The character is described as "a quick-witted, rabble-rousing activist who initially clashes with Ted over the planned demolition of a historic New York hotel." Said rabble-rouser is expected to appear in How I Met Your Mother dvd.
Other names being floated for the role include Friday Night Lights dvd ' Minka Kelly and former Real World star-turned-actress Jacinda Barrett.

British comic Eddie Izzard has been tapped for a recurring role on United States of Tara dvd .
In the Showtime series about a woman grappling with Dissociative Identity Disorder, Izzard will play a brilliant psychology professor skeptical about the disease. However, his growing fascination with Tara will lead him to explore the condition further.
The role will tag Izzard's return to American TV following his work on the short-lived 2007 FX drama The Riches. Izzard, 48, recently appeared on another Showtime original series, The Green Room with Paul Provenza.
United States of Tara Season 3 begins the following month for a premiere in 2011.

1987 homicide inspired change in cold-case policy
Charged with murder more than 20 years ago in the shooting death of a neighbor, Tho Minh Quach’s bail was revoked after he failed to appear in court for a hearing as his 1988 trial approached.
Now, after living openly in Boston for two decades, Quach never will stand trial on the murder charge after a Harris County judge’s ruling that the law missed its chance to prosecute because of a clerical error and a lack of effort to find him over the years.
It is the kind of case that makes prosecutors shake their heads, and is the foundation of the policies and procedures being developed by the recently recast cold case unit of the Harris County district attorney’s office.
Russell Turbeville, who heads the division, said Quach’s case, with all of its missteps , is the example prosecutors will look to when going after cold cases.
“The law is that law enforcement has to make reasonable, diligent efforts to apprehend even a fugitive suspect,” Turbeville said. “Once the defendant has been charged, they have a right to a speedy trial and if there’s a significant delay, the court looks at four factors and does a balancing test.”
Quach’s attorney, Dick DeGuerin, said his client was defending himself when he shot Loan Van Tran, 36, in the head about 4 a.m. on Nov. 29, 1987, in an apartment in the 7800 block of Tierwester. Investigators at the time said the pair had been drinking when they began arguing. Quach, then 35, surrendered shortly after the shooting.
He was charged with murder and released on $10,000 bail. After receiving several threats, he moved to Boston to live with relatives. He continued to make court appearances in Houston, until his case was put on a docket and no one notified him, DeGuerin said. Eventually his bail was revoked and he was listed as a fugitive.
Even visited Vietnam
Through the years, Quach lived openly in Boston, giving his real name and birth date to authorities several times for traffic tickets. He also asked for permission from the federal government to visit his native Vietnam, and passed through Customs during his international travels.
Investigators initially were befuddled in their attempts to locate Quach because his date of birth, Jan. 1, 1952, was incorrectly entered into police computers as “11/19/52.”
Ten years later, the error was fixed and the computer matched two men with the description — one in Los Angeles, and Quach in Boston.
Houston officials asked both cities to investigate. But police on both coasts put the case on the back burner, and police here did not follow up.
“Everybody dropped the ball on that case,” Harris County District Attorney Pat Lykos said recently.
The open warrant for murder finally caught up with Quach in 2008, and he was brought back to stand trial.
“That case was snakebit at every level,” said Assistant District Attorney Bill Exley, who led the prosecution.
DeGuerin argued that because Quach had not tried to conceal his identity, police had missed their window to prosecute him.
State District Judge Denise Collins agreed, calling the case a fiasco, a disappointment and a mistake that she hopes is not repeated.
It still haunts prosecutors.

'True Blood' stars presenting at Emmys
Three stars from hit HBO show True Blood Seasons 1-3 dvd have been added to the list of presenters for this weekend's Primetime Emmy Awards. They are: Newlyweds Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer along with co-star Alexander Skarsgard.
True Blood dvd is up for the 'Outstanding Drama Series' award, but the show failed to garner any acting nominations this year.

Look, we know this isn't huge news, but it's worth noting that there is a particular Supernatural Season 6 episode title you guys might be interested in.
Yes, episode 6 of the upcoming new season is called "Live Free or Twihard." We assume that this will one of Supernatural's lighter, more comedic episodes that the show does so damn well. Sam and Dean might just find themselves up to their ears in obsessive, romantically-deprived fans of some sort of Twilight movie parody.
While this news wasn't announced at Comic-Con last month, Jensen Ackles did express his, ahem, feelings toward the Twilight saga. "There's a lot of vampires going on these days," he said. "I'd like to just show people how it's done properly. Cut this pasty, waify s**t out and let's just kill some people."

However, Bowie has since taken up his official website to show that the entire story was a cleverly devised hoax.

George Lucas has revealed that The Star Wars saga dvd will be coming to Blu-Ray in Fall 2011.
"The set will feature all six live-action Star Wars feature films, with the highest picture and audio quality, along with extensive special features".
Star Wars fans at the event even got a taster of the bonus material, in the form of a long-lost deleted scene from Return of the Jedi. The sequence (which is currently up on Youtube - though don't expect that to last long) shows Darth Vader trying to communicate with Luke Skywalker via the force and a very dark side looking Luke putting the final touches to his new lightsaber prior to sending the droids into Jabba's palace. All very exciting.
Star Wars.com has a few more details about the scene and we'll give you more details about the Blu-ray releases as and when we we get them. Stay tuned.

She said: "I have applied superstitions about sex. If you're not having sex with someone who really likes you you or who really loves you they can screw up your energy.
"I'm sure sometimes, I don't know, if you are promiscuous and are just sleeping around that people can take things from you. I think it's always important to be making love."

"The split seemingly amicable and their prime focus is their daughter," says the rep. "They ask that their privacy be respected currently."
The actress first filed for divorce from Jane in January 2009, however the two reconciled later that year.
Arquette, 42, and Jane, 41, met through friends in 2001 and were married in Italy in May 2006. Their only child together, a daughter named Harlow Olivia Calliope, was given birth to in February 2003.
