SWOT analysis

SWOT analysis also called situation analysis. It is the abbreviation of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. We plan to open a coffee bar in Chongqing Communication Institute and the following analyses focus on the four aspects.StrengthsWe plan to open a coffee bar combined with selling some cakes and ice-cream. The characteristic of our bar is that we sell fresh ground coffee; our bar is the only place for this service. What’s more, the comfortable environment is another high light. Our bar will provide comfortable, quiet, bright place with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake for all the customers to have a rest, study, thinking and chat with friends. Moreover, almost most employees are the students of our college; they will bring their friends and classmates to our coffee bar. The last but not least is that the location is very available for all the consumers. It is located by the only way into and out of school building. Both teachers and students can come here to study after class. All the aspects will make us have more confidence to open the new coffee bar on campus.WeaknessesFirst, we lack the skill of doing fresh ground coffee so we have to recruit a person for this field. Second, we don’t have facilities for doing cakes and ice-cream. We have to do a standby plan to solve this problem. Third, the competitors are very popular with the students while our bar is a new one; we have to compete for the consumer resources. Our school is far from the raw material market, this is not good for purchasing materials. Fourth, all of us are students; we don’t have a strong finance support when competing with others. We need to consider the above weaknesses which would destroy our bar if we don’t put much attention to them.OpportunitiesNow, our college hasn’t any fresh ground coffee bar. The existed competitors only have instant coffee; it is a good opportunity for us to fill the vacancy and to satisfy the market needs. While selling coffee to consumers, we can sell cakes and ice-cream to them at the same time. There are so many potential consumers, and this is a huge market. We can do fresh ground coffee by renting facilities. Whilst, a very famous patisserie provides cakes for us to sell and they would like to accept the unsold cakes. All these factors provide a good chance for us to open a coffee bar on campus.ThreatsFirst, the exited competitors are franchisee of reputation shops. The franchisers have given them the unified training. They are easier to accept by consumers. Second, after we have begun our selling point of doing fresh ground coffee, others will emulate our mode and maybe there will be a specialized ice-cream shop to attract parts of students groups. Third, because of lacking skill, we have to recruit a specific person to do fresh ground coffee for us. And we should have a standby plan in case of the employee’s resignation. Fourth, everything is changing so quickly so that we have to change our services to satisfy the tempo. Fifth, we also need to focus our attention to the new recruiting policy of the institute, such as whether it will increase new students. This trend is a challenge. Sixth, to the consumers, the fresh ground coffee which can be replaced by instant coffee and milk tea is much expensive. All these points will threat our operation.

News about Reno 911! Star

On Tuesday, at the TCA Press Tour, FX GM John Landgraf made a few announcements, but none pleased us more here at IGN than the news that they'd ordered a comedy pilot from Reno 911! season 1 dvd's Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant called Alabama. Now before you start thinking that Alabama is about wild-eyed southerners, or even "The Inbred Brothers" of Lennon and Garant's sketch from The State, it is, in fact, an comedy set in outer space; set aboard the United Nations peacekeeping spaceship: THE USS ALABAMA. We the viewer will be catching up with the crew six years into their seven year mission to maintain peace and enforce treaties between planets in their jurisdiction: Sector 187-G.
The Following questions are a view to LENNON
Q:would they want you to change to Galaxy Nuts or something?
A:Oooh. Now that you pitched it, I don't hate the idea of calling it Galaxy Nuts. Hang on. Let me get over to my computer and just a quick "find/replace" and now working title Galaxy Nuts. Yeah, if we were doing this show for a network it would not be happening. As proven by our history with network TV. In fact, there was a show like this that the Always Sunny in Philadelphia guys did called Boldly Going Nowhere - which was aStar Trek complete series spoof for FOX that didn't go anywhere. It was quite funny actually.
Q:In the time since you started on cable, cable has now become the place to be. The place where actors and writers are dying to work. What's your take on the new cable landscape?
A:If you look at cable, hands down, anything ground-breaking that's happened on TV in the past ten, fifteen years from The Sopranos seasons 1-6 dvd collection to Mad Men box setto Breaking Bad dvd 1-3 has really all come up out of cable. We have been lured away from cable, which honestly is the only place we belong given our sensibilities. I mean we did an episode of Reno 911! dvd which was a note-for-note parody of Waiting for Godot, where Junior and I are waiting for Bush's motorcade to come by. And that's the kind of thing we want to be doing. Our forays into network TV have been disasters. I think that's why were so pleased right now to be working with FX. You can say that network TV isn't that great, but that's not true all the time. I think what you can say is that things made by committees often don't turn out that good. And the bigger committee you have making your piece of art, the shoddier the outcome will be. Because, ultimately, you can't please everyone. (Edit by Camille)

Love

It was Christmas 2009. I was teaching in a small town in Ohio where my twenty-seven third graders eagerly anticipated the great day of gifts giving. Each day the children produced some new wonder- string of popcorn, hand-made trinkets, and German bells made from the wallpaper samples, which we hung from the ceiling. Through it all she remained aloof, watching from after, seemingly miles away, I wondered what would happen to this quiet child, once so happy, now so suddenly withdrawn. I hoped the festivities would appeal to her. But nothing did.The day of gift giving finally came. We oohed and aahed over our handiwork as the presents were exchanged. Through it all, she sat quietly watching. I had made a special pouch for her, red and green with white lace. I wanted every much to see her smile. She opened the package so slowly and carefully, I waited but she turned away. After school the children left in little groups, but she lingered, watching them go out the door. I sat down to catch my breath, hardly aware of what was happening when she came to me with outstretched hands, bearing a small white box, unwrapped and slightly soiled, as though it had been held many times by unwashed, childish hands. “For me?” I asked with a weak smile. She said not a word, but nodded her head. I took the box and gingerly opened it. There inside was a good dvd box set. In a flash I knew-she bought the desperate housewives seasons 1-6 dvd collection for her mother, a mother she would never hold her or brush her hair or share a funny story, a mother who would never again hear childish joys or sorrows. A mother who had taken her own life just three weeks before.I held out the hands. She stepped back then as if to see that all was well. I looked down at the dvd set, then back at the giver, “Maria, it is so beautiful. She would have loved it.” Neither of us could stop the tears. She stumbled into my arms and we wept together. And for that moment, I became her mother for she had given me the greatest gift of all herself.
Here I want to say no matter what gift the girl gives, the dvds contains her love to her mother. So please don’t look down up this little gift (such as the girls TV Series Boxset). (Written by Camille)

Matt Roush's thoughts about rescue me, the big bang theory

Question: I was wondering what you think about this season of Rescue Me so far.

Matt Roush: I'm enjoying the final season to a point, but I'm also rather relieved that Rescue Me is nearing its endgame a year from now . I've come this far with these characters, so I'll stay with it to the end. Rescue Me is still entertaining.

Question: With the ending of Rescue Me in sight,I have not been able to find a show on TV that has the right amount of comedy and drama.

Matt Roush: Justified is as dark as Rescue Me, and its flawed hero is almost well-adjusted by Tommy Gavin standards, but the mix of comedy and drama is very strong. I also recommend Nurse Jackie, the Soprano.

Question: I loved the Doctor Who finale with all its twists and turns. But what I loved most was the ever- elusive River Song. She needs her own show pronto. It would be nice to have a sci-fi show with a strong female lead. What do you think are the chances?

Matt Roush: Actually, wouldn't a female Doctor be a nice change one of these iterations? Sci-fi shows in recent years have been much more generous in creating strong female roles, from Farscape to Battlestar Galactica to you name it, but with River Song, I think her elusive nature is best played out in small and mysterious doses. More might actually be less where she's concerned, although every time she appeared on Doctor Who last season, I enjoyed it.

Question: I absolutely loved Wil Wheaton on The Big Bang Theory. I even enjoyed watching him on Leverage. Is there any chance of seeing Wil on Big Bang or Leverage again or on any other shows for that matter?

Matt Roush: He was just in an episode of Eureka, so Wil is keeping busy. Don't know if he could return to Leverage or Eureka—haven't watched the latter yet, being wrapped up in the TCA doings lately, and ironically having almost no free time available to watch current TV while out in Los Angeles—but with The Big Bang Theory, he is very much a part of that show's ongoing "mythology," so to speak, as Sheldon's nemesis.

Lost, Glee Win TV Critics Awards

The Television Critics Association Awards were presented Saturday night, and it was a big year for Glee. The breakout hit won three awards, including Program of the Year, Outstanding New Program and Individual Achievement in Comedy – the latter for the ever-awesome Jane Lynch, for her work as Sue Sylvester.
Modern Family Won Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, while there was a rare tie in the Outstanding Achievement in Drama category – with both Breaking Bad and Lost taking home the honor.Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof gave a very funny speech, in which he read from responses on Twitter he'd gotten from those who absolutely hated the polarizing Lost finale.
Also in the "great speech" category was Tom Hanks, who accepted for his HBO miniseries, The Pacific - hearing Hanks drop an F-bomb or two (as Lindelof did) was certainly an amusing highlight. The latest news from http://www.dvdorderonline.com/articles/news-1806-Lost-Glee-Win-TV-Critics-Awards.html

New view about the office, 30 rock .....

Rob Lowe has been promoted to series regular on Parks and Recreation, which is still on track to return at midseason.
-NBC Entertainment president Angela Bromstad reported that Greg Daniels and Paul Lieberstein, executive producers of The Office dvd, have an idea about how to replace Michael Scott after Steve Carell leaves the show at the end of the season. "There are story lines in place, and there's going to be a little mystery leading up to that," Bromstad hinted. She reaffirmed the strength of the ensemble cast, pooh-poohing suggestions that the show should end when Carell departs. "I couldn't go home and face my 14-year-old son if The Office dvd box set went off the air," she said.
-Allen Coulter (The Sopranos seasons 1-6), who directed the pilot of Nurse Jackie 2 release, has taken the reins of the first episode of Law & Order: Los Angeles, which now stars Terrence Howard, Alfred Molina, Skeet Ulrich and Corey Stoll.
-The network has renewed its development deal with Film 44 (aka Peter Berg's production company), which will oversee the remake of the BBC drama Prime Suspect.
-Taking a cue from Tina Fey's comedy roots, 30 Rock on dvds will stage a live episode on Oct. 14.
-Bromstad says she understands the skepticism surrounding The Event in the wake of FlashForward's cancellation, but also expressed confidence in the show's pilot script — and its planned direction. "[The pilot script] was so compelling. Even though it was very complex, it was also very clear," she said.
So Many series will be began, so wonderful.
